Why information is processed

Information is processed to respond to enquiries, assess whether we can accept an instruction, provide quotations, arrange and conduct assessments, prepare reports, administer the service, meet legal and regulatory responsibilities, and establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Special-category information

Medico-legal work may involve health information and other sensitive data. Relevant legal bases may include Article 9(2)(f) UK GDPR for legal claims and, where applicable, Article 9(2)(h) for medical diagnosis, together with relevant provisions of the Data Protection Act 2018.

Sharing and retention

Information is not shared except where necessary for the instructed purpose, professional administration, legal proceedings, regulatory obligations, lawful authority or approved service providers operating under appropriate safeguards. Records are retained in accordance with legal, professional, regulatory and indemnity requirements.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, individuals may have rights of access, rectification, restriction, objection or complaint. A complaint may also be made to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Please use the enquiry form only for a brief, non-confidential outline. Do not include detailed medical history, NHS numbers or attach medical or legal records. Secure transfer arrangements will be provided if required.
